The Academic Validation Board (AVB) is integrated as a quality assurance and assessment body of the EU Analogue Standards Certification Committee (EUASC) at the Isles International University, and is responsible of coordinating students’ performance and evaluating it after the process to validation has been acceptably accomplished.
Under the AVB’s responsibilities come management of three basic processes, related to classification assigned by the EUASC Committee to tuition institutions where applicant followed their studies programmes:
Studies and Degrees Validation on academic programmes followed by students at tuition institutions located outside the EU, which have been awarded the EUASC Seal on quality levels AAA, AA and A;
Double Degrees awarding to student who followed academic programmes at tuition institutions located within the EU and recognised by the EUASC Committee, which have executed a collaboration agreement with the University including this specific condition; and
Degrees awarding, acting as awarding body on behalf of Isles International University partner institutions, or on behalf of tuition institutions located outside the EU, which have been awarded the EUASC Seal on quality levels AAA, AA and A, and which have executed a collaboration agreement with the University including this specific condition.
Regardless of specific terms and conditions established within collaboration agreements executed with the University by tuition institutions which decide to provide this benefit to their students, of any other condition related to students’ previous performance to admission into one of the processes explained above, and of additional requirements that should arise after admission into one of the mentioned processes, all students who may become admitted into one of these processes must accomplish the following, as minimum requirements to reach either Validation, Double Degree or First Degree awarding:
The processes are based upon research work from students who may become admitted; therefore, all students admitted into any of these processes will be assigned a Tutor who shall provide guidance on research work to be performed during a minimum period of one year, according to specific alignments established by the University through student’s tutor instructions and under his/her supervision.
Applicants, who followed studies programmes at tuition institutions which have not been previously classified by the EUASC Committee, may have to go through, and successfully pass, examination process before being admitted into validation or degree awarding processes.
Students enrolled in validation or degree awarding processes related to VET Studies programmes must, as a result of research work done, write and complete at least one research paper including a minimum of 9,000 words, which would mandatorily have to become evaluated and approved, on pass or fail basis, by the AVB, and published in the correspondent Research Unit’s Database of the IIU Press and Research Centre, before validation is granted or degree is awarded.
